Annual report
SCI’s annual report showcases the work of the international coordination and movement over the past year. Besides information on SCI’s finances, decision making structures and activities of the past year, the annual reports gives insights into the activities of our branches and a sneak peak to our future work.
Annual report 2019
This year has been special as we quickly approach SCI’s 100th year of existence and we are reflecting on our history and the future that is in front of us.
New Strategic Plan
In 2019, the work to accomplish our mission was guided by our Strategic Plan 2014-2019, highlighting
two goals with six main objectives. This year, after a two-year exploration of SCI’s priorities and vision for the future, the movement finalised and accepted a Strategic Plan for 2020-2023.

Projects
International projects are one of the tools helping the SCI Movement achieve its strategic goals and strengthen the organisation in the following key areas: cooperation, sharing, advocacy, financial strength and transparency, capacity building, and communication.
2020 Campaign
SCI was founded in 1920 and some activities to celebrate its 100th year of existence, as well as the 100 years of International Voluntary Service, started in 2019. SCI has several activities planned to honor and reflect on our history as well as the current state of International Voluntary Service.
What does the year 2020 mean to you?
I haven’t been involved in SCI for long, nevertheless it became my second home. I learned from the past, from people, who dedicated their life to SCI. I admire them and it always gives me a big motivation to do something similar for the world, not only for me and my neighbour. At the same time 2020 means reflection to me: where do we go as movement? Learn from the past and develop a bright view for the future. What is that view? In my opinion a big(ger) network which brings peace in every corner of the world with qualitative projects.
Publications
Publications are an excellent tool to disseminate information and spread good practices beyond the participants in trainings and projects. Usually, we try to do translations in different languages to reach more groups. During 2019, we published some toolkits and an historical book:
