Cradle to cradle is a design of products and systems that function in the same way as a healthy ecological system where materials are viewed as nutrients circulating in healthy, safe metabolisms. It is about designing of the products from the beginning in such a way that at the end of their life, they can be truly upcycled, recycled imitating nature’s cycle with everything either recycled or returned to the earth, directly or indirectly through food, as a completely safe, nontoxic, and biodegradable nutrient.
