2.6 ASSESSING YOURSELF AS A VOLUNTEER ABROAD

Try to answer these questions *in the comments*:

_What are the most challenging  situations that you can meet during your voluntary project?

_What personal resources can you use in order to cope with them?

_What areas of your personality should you develop in order to overcome potential obstacles?

_Are there resources available for you, in case you meet a challenging situation?

_Where can you find or contact these resources?

Be aware that in long term voluntary projects, your hosting organisation should assign a “mentor” to you, a person with whom you can share certain doubts or who can help you to better understand and resolve certain difficulties  you might face. Apart from the official mentor assigned to you, you can also try to identify a “person of trust” with whom you can discuss certain issues. You can also contact your sending organisation to ask for support.
